New Automation Capabilities for Centro and Mithras Microplate Readers

Hudson Robotics, Inc., one of the leading suppliers of microplate automation to life science research, has developed an easy-to-use automation capability for Berthold Technologies Mithras multimode and Centro luminescence microplate readers.

Hudson’s PlateCrane EX robot arm is designed to load and unload microplates on Mithras and Centro.
Hudson has recently completed development of a special software interface to communicate with Berthold Technologies MikroWin 2000 software. This now allows the PlateCrane EX to automatically load, run and unload Berthold Technologies readers, as well as to combine them with other instruments to make a complete, automated workcell, running automated methods using Hudson’s powerful SoftLinx™ scheduler software.

Hudson’s SoftLinx™ scheduler software provides overall workcell coordination and control, operator interfacing, method development and process scheduling. SoftLinx is a multithreaded scheduler that can run multiple instruments simultaneously, route data to appropriate servers, and provide status information to users. SoftLinx employs an easy-touse “drag and drop” method builder that will enable user personnel to modify any system process and/or develop their own processes.
