Noble gases are typical fission products as are produced in large amounts in nuclear reactor. As they are purely in gaseous form, they can not be sampled on filters. They can only be detected as activity conentrations in a well defined volume viewed by detector. Berthold offers several chambers with different volumes to monitor noble gas. We use as detectors mainly large area poroportional counter, which detect charged particles.
