We are the original Berthold, founded in 1949 by Professor Laboratorium Berthold in the beautiful Black Forest of southern Germany, and still owned today by his son, Dr. Fritz Berthold and Mr. Hans Oberhofer. These sensitive and robust instruments have been sold and serviced by different organizations in the past, most recently by Perkin Elmer, but you have found the direct manufacturer of this equipment. This is the site of the R&D, the service, the sales and support of these instruments in the USA.
